<p>This is quite a sight the first time you see it.  The corn sprouts from the ground in a corporate setting surrounded by office buildings and on the corner of a busy intersection.  It could not look more out of place but still draws you in to look closer.</p>
<p>Completed in 1994 by the artist Malcolm Cochran, it was commissioned to be a reminder to the long time agricultural heritage of the area.  Instead it became a local joke with residents not seeing the artistic value of giant inedible food that was created using tax dollars.<br />

Personally I feel it adds to the unique personality that Dublin has to offer.  In the next few weeks I&#8217;ll try to find the other pieces of artwork in this collection.</p>
