Photowalk DC – The February Outing

This Sunday we attended the latest Photowalk DC outing hosted by Aaron Brazell.  The group met at the Roslyn Metro station and strolled over the Key Bridge into Georgetown to Foggy Bottom. You can find the route we took here.

It was a great time.  We had a good turnout, great conversations, and lots of interesting subject material.  I think I took some of my best shots with my 18-55mm kit lens which I’ve had trouble with in the past.  Best of all, Sherri found another Stikman in the oddest of places.

As expected, DC in February was cold but bearable.  The wind through Rosslyn reminded me of my time in the Aleutian Islands but once we got on the bridge it felt better.  The skies were clear and we had good light for most of the walk.  Meeting at 4:00, we covered almost 2 miles in about 1 1/2 hours then some of us stuck around for dinner at McFaddens on Pennsylvania Avenue.

The next scheduled Photowalk DC is on March 28 from 11:00am to 2:00pm near the tidal basin to see the cherry blossoms.  You can also find Sherri and I at Shawn Duffy’s photowalk on March 7th along the Memorial Bridge.
