PaW 2009 Week 4

Fondue Dessert

Camera specs; Canon EOS Rebel XS fitted with a 50mm 1.8mm lens, f2.0 @ 1/50 a second, ISO 400, hand held.

Last Friday my wife and I celebrated our 21st Wedding Anniversary.  We had dinner at The Melting Pot restaurant in Reston where our daughter, Jaclyn, works as a waitress.  She took wonderful care of us throughout the whole evening. The manager even presented us with a nice bottle of wine on the house in honor of our anniversary.  Dinner was concluded with a Cookies and Cream chocolate fondue.  Jaclyn topped it off with a jigger of flaming brandy which was great for making roasted marshmallows.

To be honest I had a lot of trouble with this shot.  The restaurant was extremely low lit with a red overtone. Using a flash did not do the subject justice so after multiple tries this was one the best, or least worst, however you view it.  I did very little post processing.  Now that its done I like the darkness of it but wish the marshmallow had been more in frame.
