PaW 2009 Week 2

January 9th, 2009 Posted in Nature, Photos

Waxing Gibbous Moon

Camera specs; Canon EOS Rebel XS fitted with a 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III lens, f5.7 @ 1/125 a second, ISO 400 at 300mm.  Tripod was used.

My wife and I set up tripods in front of our local Starbucks tonight to take some shots of the waxing gibbous moon.  A waxing gibbous moon, which I learned from my intelligent wife, is one at 98%, not quite full.

So, a gibbonous moon has nothing to do with apes? Hmmm. Nice clear shot. I’ve had a hard time getting sharp moon shots even at 300mm.

Only ape Sherri saw was the one taking this picture.

Thanks for the compliment. I had to use a 10 second delay to give the camera enough time to stop shaking. I think I need a remote trigger.
