Black Friday Photography Deals: BF Day -8

November 20th, 2008 Posted in Digital Photography, Shopping

In seven days most of us will be enjoying the Thanksgiving Holiday by spending the day with family and friends, watching the Macy’s Parade followed by a football game or two, cooking and eating some turkey and all the fixins. Then most importantly of all, we’ll nap. On the couch, on the floor, on the easy chair or any available horizontal space available we’ll fall into a tryptophan induced slumber. Don’t discount this important tradition as you’ll need the rest for the following day. Black Friday comes every year with a plethora (I’ve always wanted to use that word) of sales from every conceivable merchant you can think of. Without some prior planning you can spend your Black Friday swimming through a sea of shoppers, many of who have totally forgotten the love, caring and sharing of the previous day.

Between now and Black Friday, and the ensuing Cyber Monday, I’ll be scouring the web to find some of the best deals available on digital photography equipment. Hopefully you’ll find something here to save you some time.

I have no affiliation with any online or retail merchant.  The items listed here are only the results of some internet research and ones I thought would interest the average digital photography hobbyist.  While I would welcome a kick back the chances of that happening are pretty much nil.  Also I’m not guaranteeing these are the best deals that can be found but I’ll try to compare each item against B&H and Amazon before posting.

So lets kick it off shall we?

Black Friday minus 8

With Circuit City’s financial woes and recent announcement of closing 155 stores, be on the lookout for some good deals from them.  Be aware though that purchases here will probably be “all sales final, no returns”.

Today’s list is short as most retailers, especially digital photography retailers, have not formally released their ads for next week.  Tomorrow I’ll continue to scour the Black Friday ads for deals you can find direct from retail outlets and compare to similar online deals.  I’ll also dig more into lens and accessories that always makes for great stocking stuffers (if I’m lucky my wife is reading this, maybe your spouse is too!).

Don’t forget the tax difference when comparing prices with online stores. Tax on a discounted $500 camera may make the price higher than online, especially with so many doing free shipping now.

I hear you missed out on the lines. By the way, I think the other comments on this post are spams.
